Meet the Vet

Dr. Sharon L. Daub-Pelker, D.V.M.

Dr. Sharon Daub-Pelker, the founder and owner of P*A*W*S, has known from a very young age that she would be a veterinarian. Her inspiration was her dog “Suzy,” who was a best friend growing up. Dr. Sharon was born and raised right here in Lancaster County. She graduated from McCaskey High School in 1983 and she earned her BS with Honors degree in Animal Bioscience from Penn State in 1987. She then went to Purdue University and graduated with her D.V.M. degree in 1991. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, she returned to the area and practiced with Leader Heights Animal Hospital in York; Smoketown Veterinary Hospital in Smoketown; and the Humane League of Lancaster County.

She lives with her wife Amber, 3 dogs, and a cat. Her child Tay has left the nest, is living in York, & works for two non-profits . Dr. Sharon enjoys gardening, family time, reading, photography, DIY projects around the house, and Penn State football. She is dedicated to fighting the pet overpopulation problem, teaching responsible pet care, and practicing veterinary medicine to the highest standards.
